Wett Cherry‘s debut album The High And Divine already is receiving airplay in 10 top U.S. cities. Producers Jason Futterman and Alex Santiago help bring out the band’s retro 80s vibe, paying homage to Mötley Crüe, etc with its sing-along lyrics and references to the counterculture generation.

It makes sense that all of the musicians — featuring guitarist /shredder Dennis DiNunzio, drummer Kevin Grisso, pansexual singer Andy/Andrea Jaggs, and bassist Bobby Hahm — are all from the tri-state area. Clearly, the band members were influenced by NikkiMickVince, and Tommy. While three of the members are new to the rock scene, Dennis DiNunzio aka Dennis D previously played with Adam PascalMina CaputoNotorious B.I.G. and Mayhem.”

There you have it folks! What did you think?

…And that was your Hear ’N Tell!

The Mixtape!

OK, Mixtapers! It’s Nu Music Friday and we all know what that means! New friggin’ rock for our headbanger mixtape ears! That’s right! There was so much new rock that I had to be very picky about the sound I was curating today. I tried to stick to a more rocking out vibe rather than the melodic AOR epic sound. I don’t know. We’ll see.

So there’s NEW Cheap Trick! That’s right, you heard me correct. NEW friggin Cheap Trick! Cheap Trick have Unveiled a Ferocious New Single ‘Light Up The Fire’ this past Feb! While Cheap Trick hasn’t released a full-length studio album since its 2017 Christmas ChristmasLP (which capped a three-albums in two years stretch), the band has stayed busy creatively, with a steady stream of singles since 2018’s original “Summer Looks Good on You,” which was followed by a string of cover songs. Frontman Robin Zander revealed this past fall that the band had a new album completed but was delaying the release due to the coronavirus pandemic.

So here’s Cheap Trickand their first new original song in about three years, “Light Up the Fire.” to kick off today’s “Nu Music Friday” edition of Hair Metal Mixtape.

That was Finnish rockers Temple Balls and their single “T.O.T.C.” from their 2021 album “Pyramide” to wrap up today’s Hair Metal Mixtape!

Temple Balls are an energetic hard rock band from Finland. For the past couple of years, Temple Balls has kept busy both in the studio and on the stage. Opening for such bands as Queen, Deep Purple, and Uriah Heep, the band has proven to be more than capable of handling stages of any size, whether it be a big festival or your local club’s stage.

In a recent interview with Tuonela MagazineTemple Balls guitarist Niko Vuorela was asked how the band came up with the album title Pyromide to which he stated: “pyromide” is basically a mix of pyro and pyramid. In all of our artwork, we like to feature these ancient themes, such as temples, as visual elements. If you look at the new album cover closely, you see the edges of pyramids on the sides. The pyro part should be quite obvious in it. I think it reflects our sense of visuality and high energy level in music.”

And that is today’s Hair Metal Mixtape #369 – Nu Music Friday

I’ve said it since day one of balancing the classic with the current. You have to evolve, and you can’t do that without the help of the future generations just as much as they need our wisdom, we need their vision to see things differently and evolve. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for sticking around. I appreciate and respect your time.

That’s it folks! Thanks for listening!

I hope you are maintaining your physical distance from your friends and loved ones for now and yet also engaging in social connectivity.

Keep your vinyl clean!

Peace, Love, Hair Metal!

TOMORROW on Hair Metal Mixtape! Gypsy Pistoleros release new single ‘Lost in a Town called Nowhere!’ Tune in and turn up!

“Friggin’ Nu Friday!” Hair Metal Mixtape w/Gabe @ 12pm EST (12:00 GMT-5) (Click here to listen!)

It’s Friggin’ Friday so that means it’s Friggin’ Nu Music Friday! So stick around for new friggin’ Sergeant Steel, Maverick and Santa Cruz , just to name a friggin’ few!

But first… Hear N’ Tell!

Gypsy Pistoleros release new single ‘Lost in a Town called Nowhere!’

Gypsy Pistoleros released a brand new single and anthem for the underdog ‘Lost in a Town called Nowhere!’ This past Feb 26th from the brand new Album, ‘The Mescalito Vampires’! On Golden Robot/RIOT Records out June.

Described as the Album they always promised to make, this release see’s GYPSY PISTOLEROS fully embracing their fiery flamenco/rumba passion & crossover punk Rock n Roll leanings!  Latin Rock’s Appetite for Destruction, ‘The Mescalito Vampires’ is here!

Here’s Gypsy Pistoleros and their new single “Lost in a Town called Nowhere!” right here on Hair Metal mixtape

That was Gypsy Pistoleros and their new single “Lost in a Town called Nowhere!from the brand new Album, ‘The Mescalito Vampires’! On Golden Robot/RIOT Records out June.

Gypsy Pistoleros are best described as being the ideal house band for the fictitious Titty Twister bar of Rodriguez’s From Dusk till Dawn. Between the nods to Morricone’s tense, tumbleweed atmospheres and the Gypsy Kings’ manic Mediterranean energy, a New York Dolls raw glam spark and a surplus of prime G ‘n’ R attitude, the Pistoleros’ sonic style is captured to the full with the release of an album they have always threatened!

Gypsy Pistoleros remain something truly unique and interesting in today’s predictable musical landscape. Combining their truly unique mix of flamenco rumba which gleefully collides with old school punk rock ‘n’ roll riffs in a head on collision. In the best rock ‘n’ roll tradition, with big hooks, attitude, and sleaze. Yet those flamenco breaks got into your head and refuse to leave – this hybrid rocks.

The Mixtape!

Happy Friggin’ Friday Mixtapers! That’s right, it’s Friday and this is the second installment of Friggin’ Nu Friday! Where what I play for you today is all new music released in 2021 so far that I feel that I want to share with “yous guys”. The latest the better but there is so much new stuff that I’m still catching up. But I think I cleared the slate with this list today, so next week should be super recent.

Alright, so during the week I premiered this bands new single off of their record not out yet. This was the first single released from their forthcoming album Pyramid! This is Temple Balls with “Thunder From The North” right here on hair metal mixtape!

That was SantaCruz and their newest single “Moonchild” and their re-invented new sound with what seems to be a two man operation at the moment. Can’t wait to see what it to come of Santa Cruz!

And that is today’s Hair Metal Mixtape #355 – Friggin’ Nu Friday!

This is really an opportunity to reflect on the fact that there is still new music out there worth reaching out too! And hopefully days like today give you the opportunity to have heard something you haven’t heard before and you reach out and make a new connection with that band or their music. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for sticking around. I appreciate and respect your time.

That’s it folks! Thanks for listening!

I hope you are maintaining your physical distance from your friends and loved ones for now and yet also engaging in social connectivity.
