Wett Cherry‘s debut album The High And Divine already is receiving airplay in 10 top U.S. cities. Producers Jason Futterman and Alex Santiago help bring out the band’s retro 80s vibe, paying homage to Mötley Crüe, etc with its sing-along lyrics and references to the counterculture generation.

It makes sense that all of the musicians — featuring guitarist /shredder Dennis DiNunzio, drummer Kevin Grisso, pansexual singer Andy/Andrea Jaggs, and bassist Bobby Hahm — are all from the tri-state area. Clearly, the band members were influenced by NikkiMickVince, and Tommy. While three of the members are new to the rock scene, Dennis DiNunzio aka Dennis D previously played with Adam PascalMina CaputoNotorious B.I.G. and Mayhem.”

There you have it folks! What did you think?

…And that was your Hear ’N Tell!

The Mixtape!

OK, Mixtapers! It’s Nu Music Friday and we all know what that means! New friggin’ rock for our headbanger mixtape ears! That’s right! There was so much new rock that I had to be very picky about the sound I was curating today. I tried to stick to a more rocking out vibe rather than the melodic AOR epic sound. I don’t know. We’ll see.

So there’s NEW Cheap Trick! That’s right, you heard me correct. NEW friggin Cheap Trick! Cheap Trick have Unveiled a Ferocious New Single ‘Light Up The Fire’ this past Feb! While Cheap Trick hasn’t released a full-length studio album since its 2017 Christmas ChristmasLP (which capped a three-albums in two years stretch), the band has stayed busy creatively, with a steady stream of singles since 2018’s original “Summer Looks Good on You,” which was followed by a string of cover songs. Frontman Robin Zander revealed this past fall that the band had a new album completed but was delaying the release due to the coronavirus pandemic.

So here’s Cheap Trickand their first new original song in about three years, “Light Up the Fire.” to kick off today’s “Nu Music Friday” edition of Hair Metal Mixtape.

That was Finnish rockers Temple Balls and their single “T.O.T.C.” from their 2021 album “Pyramide” to wrap up today’s Hair Metal Mixtape!

Temple Balls are an energetic hard rock band from Finland. For the past couple of years, Temple Balls has kept busy both in the studio and on the stage. Opening for such bands as Queen, Deep Purple, and Uriah Heep, the band has proven to be more than capable of handling stages of any size, whether it be a big festival or your local club’s stage.

In a recent interview with Tuonela MagazineTemple Balls guitarist Niko Vuorela was asked how the band came up with the album title Pyromide to which he stated: “pyromide” is basically a mix of pyro and pyramid. In all of our artwork, we like to feature these ancient themes, such as temples, as visual elements. If you look at the new album cover closely, you see the edges of pyramids on the sides. The pyro part should be quite obvious in it. I think it reflects our sense of visuality and high energy level in music.”

And that is today’s Hair Metal Mixtape #369 – Nu Music Friday

I’ve said it since day one of balancing the classic with the current. You have to evolve, and you can’t do that without the help of the future generations just as much as they need our wisdom, we need their vision to see things differently and evolve. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for sticking around. I appreciate and respect your time.

That’s it folks! Thanks for listening!

I hope you are maintaining your physical distance from your friends and loved ones for now and yet also engaging in social connectivity.

Peace, Love, Hair Metal!

The Mixtape!

OK, Mixtapers! I’m psyched for several reasons today. It’s evolution time. For the past couple of weeks I have been Beta testing different themed days to see how it feels. And although it was fun to set parameters and rules on my own mixtapes, I don’t like parameters and rules for my mixtapes. So frig it! Today we get into trouble! Well it’s not always us who are getting into trouble, sometimes it’s them that are trouble. What kind of dangerous are we talking’ here? Dangerous on the dance floor or what? Well, let’s see…

So here’s Mark and the boys from Slaughter with “Loaded Gun”, the Lucky 13th track on ’Stick It To Ya” to kick off today’s “Trouble” edition of Hair Metal Mixtape. Crank it up and get yourself in trouble folks!

That was melodic rockers Passion and their single “Too Bad For Baby” from their 2020  self-titled debut album to wrap up today’s Hair Metal Mixtape!

Passion is a new band created by former Night By Night vocalist, Daniel Rossall a/k/a Lion Ravarez.

Inspired by the hard rock giants of the 80’s and 90’s, the idea of forming a new band sparked in Rossall’s mind when he collaborated on a song in 2017 with other former members of Night By Night. The resulting song, which could be described as amalgamation of early 90’s classic hard rock with 80’s AOR, was so encouraging that it pushed Rossall to create a whole albums worth of material.

Rossall decided to send some of the demos he was working on to Frontiers and said demos immediately sparked the interest of the label who eagerly signed PASSION to the label’s roster.

“Passion is very honored and proud to be a new member of the Frontiers family,” says Rossall “It’s a great pleasure to be among friends, influences, and other dedicated artists who all look to deliver the best music possible. We are very excited for the release of the debut album and cannot wait to perform these songs for rock fans all over the world. This is a fantastic musical opportunity for us and I would like to thank Frontiers for providing a platform to deliver our music to the right audience. Let’s ROCK!”

While Rossall played most of the instruments on the album and produced it, make no mistake, PASSION is a band. 2019 will see “The Rise of Passion” with Lion Ravarez on lead vocals, Weston James Jr. on bass and backing vocals, Chance Vanderlain on guitar and backing vocals, and Bobby Laker on drums. An absolute must for fans of AC/DC, Aerosmith, KISS, Danger Danger, Foreigner, Journey, Ratt, Van Halen, and the like.

And that is today’s Hair Metal Mixtape #368 – Trouble

Yeah man, sometimes you are the trouble and sometimes they are the trouble. Sometimes being together is trouble and being separated can also cause trouble. Does that make it Double Trouble? That’s another Mixtape! Thanks for tuning in and thanks for sticking around. I appreciate and respect your time.

That’s it folks! Thanks for listening!
